Key industries include citrus and broad acre horticulture, apples and pears, tropical fruits, stonefruits, melons, nuts, berries, beans, nursery, cut flowers and turf among others. As a result Australia has some of the best fruit, nuts and vegetables in the world and supplies these domestically and internationally.

In 2007, Australia exported a wide variety of fruits, nuts and vegetables to over 100 countries. Being a southern hemisphere country Australia can supply to many areas of the world when other supplies are not available or are poor in quality, making Australian grown produce highly valued all over the world.
